About the Author
Shane was born in Jefferson City, Missouri and grew up in the nearby town of Wardsville. With three sisters and four brothers, Shane was no stranger to large gatherings and had an adventurous and eventful childhood. After graduating from high school, Shane attended the University of Missouri - Rolla and graduated with honors with a mechanical engineering degree in 2000. Right after graduation he went to work for the Boeing company. During his first few months at Boeing, he made the decision to join the Army Reserve as a small arms repairman. He was married in November 2003, a few short months before being deployed to Iraq. After a year in Baghdad, Shane returned to Saint Louis where he resides with his wife to this day.
