About the Author
Sir Martin Gilbert is one of the foremost historians of the twentieth century. The official biographer of Winston Churchill, he is also the author of a definitive history of the Holocaust, twelve historical atlases, and comprehensive studies of the first and second world wars. His most recent publication is The Righteous: The Unsung Heroes of the Holocaust (2003).He was knighted in 1995 and lives in London.
