About the Author
Trudy Rubin is the foreign affairs columnist for The Philadelphia Inquirer and a member of The Inquirer's editorial board. Her column appears twice weekly in The Inquirer and runs regularly in mayy other newspapers around the United States. A foreign policy pundit who actually goes to the was zones (Lebanon, Bosnia, Chechnya, the West Bank and Gaza, and now Iraq), Rubin is a former foreign correspondent who was one of the few women journalists to cover the Lebanon war in the early 80s. Prior to joining The Inquirer in 1983, she was Middle East correspondent for the The Christian Science Monitor, covering Israel and the Arab world, and lived in Jerusalem and Beirut. Previously, she was a staff writer on American politics for The Economist of London. A graduate of Smith College and The London School of Economics, Rubin lives with her husband in Philadelphia.
