COLD WAR WARRIORS : The Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment 1959-1994
Editorial Reviews
Book Description
In 1959 two veteran British infantry battalions, the Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiments, were combined into a single unit. The years of existence of the new Duke of Edinburgh's Royal Regiment, 1959 to 1994, were ones of unique challenges for a British infantry battalion, as the Regiment served in Germany and numerous trouble spots and carried the U.S. M-16 rifle on an experimental basis during a largely peaceful tour of duty in Northern Ireland.
