About the Author
Floyd Merrell is professor of Spanish and semiotics in the department of foreign languages and literature at Purdue University. He is a Visiting Distinguished Professor at the Pontifica Universidade Catolica de Sao Paulo (Brazil). His fields of specialization include contemporary Spanish-American prose and Latin American culture and civilization. His many books include Sobre Ias Culturas y Civilizaciones Latinoamericanas (On Latin American Cultures and Civilizations).
