Folkore and tales include childhood rhymes, plant legends, tall tales, and a variety of brauche (healing) and hexe stories, spirit stories, stories of special days, and a number of stories about a cunning fellow named Eileschpeggel ("Owl Mirror") -- all of which reflect important components of Pennsylvania German life.
