Book Description
Concentrating on immigration and settlement from England and on the declining influence of the English over two centuries, this book studies "the English" in Australia. As the largest group originally making up the Australian population, the English have been traditionally considered as the "norm" and thus rarely has the English influence been studied in detail. However, they might now very likely be seen as a "foreign" element.
